Palestinian Weapons to Be Discussed Over National Dialogue
MP Boutros Harb said, in an interview with the Voice of Lebanon radio station on Thursday, the issue of the Palestinian arms outside the refugee camps would be discussed over the national dialogue table, because they proved to be a danger for Lebanon.
He added the upcoming dialogue session was to propose ideas and voice political stances, although he said nothing new was likely to be suggested.
He affirmed that he would propose his view on the defense strategy on Monday. Harb explained that each interlocutor would announce the name of his representative to be a member of the committee in charge to follow up all agreements.
“We should not promise ourselves more than was [actually] achieved in the Arab Economic Summit in Kuwait,” he added.
He concluded that the Arab reconciliation was only formal and paved the way for dialogue and communication, but it would not resolve the difficulties of the Arab community nor the Middle East.
