If Netanyahu Becomes PM, No Way to Recruit U.S. against Hizbullah, Hamas
Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni said that if Israeli right wing Likud party leader Benjamin Netanyahu becomes prime minister "we will lose our ability to recruit the United States against Iran, Hizbullah and Hamas."
If Likud wins the election "our ability to put together an international coalition against those threats will be affected immediately," said Livni in an interview with Haaretz Magazine.
She said Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barack have personality problems.
"Netanyahu and Barak each have a character problem that was revealed during their tenures as prime minister," Livni said.
She told Haaretz that both men "completed their terms of office as excoriated prime ministers," adding she has no doubt that she "can be a better prime minister than any other candidate."
Netanyahu has said Israel must "finish the job" and end the threat posed by Hamas in Gaza and Hizbullah in Lebanon.
"We will face up to the Iranian terrorist subdivisions, with Hizbullah in the north and Hamas in the south … because we cannot accept Iranian terrorist bases on the outskirts of Ashkelon, Ashdod and Tel Aviv," Netanyahu said referring to the three Israeli cities on the Mediterranean.
