Some Aim to Replace Pluralism with a One-Party Totalitarian System
MP Nayla Mouawad regretted, after meeting with Maronite Patriarch Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir on Friday in Bkirki, the campaign against the centrist bloc and said that the Lebanese constitution stated all citizens had the right to choose their representatives democratically.
She added, “Some parties aimed to replace democracy and pluralism with a one-party totalitarian system by attacking major figures and leaders.”
She called for abandoning political slogans and speeches, specifically Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s Thursday speech.
Mouawad said Future Movement MP Ghazi Youssef informed us about irregularities in the Ministry of Telecommunications, and Minister Gebran Bassil still has not responded about this issue.
She called for making efforts to prevent the repercussions of the world financial crisis, which affected Lebanese working abroad.
