Destruction of Political and Religious Institutions Threatens Christian Presence
Chairman of the Kataeb Party’s branch in Achrafieh Nadim Gemayel called on “Christians, in particular the Maronites, to stop destroying their political and religious institutions,” because this was threatening the Christian presence in Lebanon.
During a visit to the Achrafieh neighborhoods of Rmeil and Sayfi on Wednesday, Gemayel said the divided Christian community should “talk to each other and set up a strategy and commit all the parties to [it],” adding that every party had something positive to bring to the table.
“Participation in the February 14 commemoration [of former Prime Minster Rafik Hariri’s assassination] in Martyr’s Square [is a symbol] of our unified goal… that all the Lebanese are dreaming of.”
