أبلغت النيابة العامة التمييزية الفنان ميشال ألفترياديس، للمثول أمام القضاء بسبب شكوى قدمها رئيس القوات اللبنانية الدكتور سمير جعجع بحقّه، على خلفيّة وصف ألفترياديس، في مقابلة إذاعية، جعجع بـ”المجرم”.
وطلب جعجع في الشكوى تعويضاً قيمته عشرة مليارات ليرة.

As if it’s news for everybody now that Samir Geagea is a criminal? This is a fact! Hahaha, you guys make me laugh. We all know that, Michel Elefteriades only mentioned it and it’s not a reason to sue him. It’s time to call things by their name, period. Stop following leaders blindly like idiots. A fact? Where do you get your facts, Ms Rima? From Adnan Addoum? FYI, Samir Geagea was not judged before an impartial court. He was considered a political prisoner by Amnesty International. You are free to stand with Michel Elefteriades, this is your right. You can also stand with Bashar and weep over Hitler. It is also your right. You have the right to have a poor judgement!
Poor judgement? I don’t need anyone to tell me the truth not Amnesty or any court, I was there during the war in the 80th and witnessed all the horrors.
On the top of that everyone is entitled to his opinion Ziad, who ever has experienced the war atrocities, witnessed the crualties he has committed against his own countrymen.
Suing Michel Elefteriades will definitely not clean his name
You were there during the war and witnessed ALL the horrors, as you said. Did Samir Geagea commit ALL the horrors? 150,000 people were killed in the Lebanese War. Were they ALL killed by Samir Geagea? If, for argument sake, Geagea is a war criminal, then the same would apply to the leaders of all parties that had military wings during the war (some still have them as you know) and to the leaders of Syria, Israel and Palestinian armed groups. Had Michel Elefteriades said that ALL of those are criminals, I am pretty sure Geagea would not have sued him. But Elefteriades, who is an Aounist (he is free to be what he wants, I was Aounist in 1989) is singling Geagea out. Then Geagea is right to sue him, whether he wins in court or not. And believe me, Amnesty International, whom you have no consideration for and who considered Geagea a political prisoner, has way more credibility than the leader of Nowheristan (!), Michel Elefteriades.
All or half or even just one doesn’t make a difference. You only need to be responsible for a loss of 1 life to be a criminal. Was he the only one, no he wasn’t. Does that justify the act? No it doesn’t. So going back to square one, yes he is a criminal and he will be judged, if not in this life it will be in the after life.
I don’t understand why only by defending anyone that is not a fan of the LF, it triggers attacks and accusations against Michel Aoun and his party. What does one has to do with the other? And again i’m not defending Michel Aoun or his party.
Also by following the principle of Samir Geagea, I guess Elefteriades must sue almost everyone who has commented on this page for the language used and the accusations. Trust me this has portrayed a very negative image of the LF
I never said nor implied you were an Aounist, so let this be clear. Furhermore, I am not a LF, nor was one, have never voted for their candidates and have never given them a single penny. I voted in 2005 for Michel Aoun’s candidates, but never voted again. Now going back to YOUR square one, I kindly ask you about your proofs. You have no right to accuse someone of being a criminal if you have no proof. And if you have a proof, he will be accused, and he has the right to defend himself before a court in a fair trial. And this has never happened to Samir Geagea. The worldwide very respected Amnesty International, to which you have no consideration, asserted that Geagea did not have a fair trial and considered him a political prisoner. Furthermore, fairness means that all criminals, war criminals, should be judged. And it is important to note here that Samir Geagea himself has apologised to the Lebanese people. He also asked that all war records of all parties be revealed. Now saying that Elefteriades must sue almost everyone who has commented on this page is ridiculous. It shows, if any further proof was needed, the amount of hatred you have towards Samir Geagea. And hatred has never allowed its holder to give a fair judgement regarding the patry he/she hates. You had better say Elefteriades must sue ALL warlords and paramilitary leaders. But can we expect any wisdom from an anarchist who gets media attention thanks to his business and wealth?

Reading through the list of comments below, I find it very disturbing that many consider that people have no right to criticize political figures!
Maybe we should remember that politician are only there when the people vote for them or back their way of thinking, and democracy means that everyone and anyone can vote and make a difference, and that’s the beauty of democracy, one needs not to be successful, or be bright, or even have (or not) a diploma in medicine, that’s what makes the difference between great nations and banana republics.
While I do understand your attachment to your leader, I am shocked by your reaction to a criticism, not even an opinion because in this case it is based on real facts, a criminal is one who kills people, or orders people to kill people, and this is what Samir Geagea has done. No, he wasn’t the only one, Yes it was war, Maybe in some cases it was in self-defense (eventhough some might argue about it)… but the fact remains the same.
Instead of reacting violently to a criticism, why not take it into consideration, and try to better our movement, ask our leaders to be our servants (they are not called civil servants for nothing). Remember, they represent us! they should fear us, all of them!!! Be it Aoun, Geagea, Hariri, Gemayel or Berrior anyone else, they are nothing more than servants… our employees, we are their bosses
The reason our beloved Lebanon is unable to rise from the ashes is because of sentimental, irrational and stupid reactions like the ones we read below.
Shame on you! shame on you for refusing to act as responsible citizens! Shame on you for refusing to question your leaders! Shame on you for rejecting to use the most powerful weapon civilization has given us, our vote! SHAME!

It’s unfortunate that some (seemingly) very educated and outspoken people decided to call Dr. Geagea a criminal at a period in time (war time) when he was actually trying to defend them and their own parents and children from being killed during the war, and was protecting the country from being overcome by the Syrian regime or others… During the war you had ONE of 2 choices ONLY: you can either sit and do nothing and just write comments (like the ones above and below) about how to defend our communities, or how to defend the country from invaders; OR you can take action and REALLY defend your nation, your families, your communities, your institutions… and that is by using fire arms… Had Dr. Geagea not done that during the war, none of us would have been still here probably now to be able to discuss this subject as we are now… So to call a criminal someone who did all he can and dedicated all his life to protect your own life, is just pure nonsense and unfair.
All other parties may have been doing the same as him to protect their own communities, but from their own perspective.
I’m not here to discuss what the “war-time-rules” commends you to do to achieve these goals of protecting your country (because war-rules are what they are), but i’m here to say a word of truth about this “Samir Geagea” and what he really achieved to keep us all alive and away from the risks which he took upon himself, personally.
The “Criminal” which you are talking about guys was the first party who agreed to give away all his weapons when Taef agreement was put in place and decided to continue protecting us without guns because times now are peace times…
I urge you to be more considerate of others when you post your comments since this “Samir Geagea” did great things to this country including keeping me and millions others from being killed during the war.
