MP Zahra: LF holds reservations on proposed voting age amendment
Speaker Nabih Berri met with Lebanese Forces MP Antoine Zahra on Tuesday and discussed the latest domestic and regional developments.
Following their meeting in Ain el-Tineh, Zahra said that all Lebanese political parties welcomed Arab reconciliation and domestic calmness, and that he hoped “all the parties would help maintain the calm atmosphere “so that we can hold democratic parliamentary elections.”
Zahra said that the “LF had its reservations on the proposal” to lower the voting age from 21 to 18 years old, “because it is incomplete.”
Many of the LF’s supporters were young adults, Zahra said, but added that “this is a national issue,” and “we want the proposal to be balanced and complete.”
