Rioters Set Tires Ablaze in Basta

Angry rioters set rubber tires ablaze in Beirut”s Basta district to protest the death of a colleagues who was wounded in Sunday riots.

 

State-run National News Agency reported that a group pf about 30 youngsters whose ages range between 13 and 15 years old set the tires on fire.

 

Security forces rushed to the scene and dispersed the rioters, as the fire engines extinguished the fires and bulldozers reopened the street for traffic.

 

Jihad Rashid Monzer, 36, died at the American University Hospital where he was being treated from serious wounds he suffered during Sunday”s riots in Chiah and Mar Michael.

 

Seven people were killed in Sunday”s riots and at least 40 were injured.
