Hezbollah instigating an unstable atmosphere in the region
The coordinator of the March 14 General Secretariat, Fares Soueid, told LBC on Saturday that he feared Hezbollah was becoming a subject of concern for Arab countries.
Soueid said the Arab community had begun accusing Hezbollah of instigating an unstable atmosphere in the region.
“The Arab nation used to express pride toward Hezbollah when it resisted Israel, but now it is concerned [about its activities],” Soueid said, affirming that the international community still considered Hezbollah a terrorist organization.
“Arabs will not accept anyone giving them lessons about Arabism,” he said.
Soueid stated that no one could accuse Egypt of failing to make efforts concerning the Palestinian cause and said those who objected to Egypt’s position during the Gaza war should lodge their objections with the Arab League.
He said the Syrian regime would be “embarrassed” about discoveries of Hezbollah activity in Egypt, as it emerged at the same time as Syria was attempting to end its isolation and participate in Arab reconciliation.
“Hezbollah is not the only party that tried to control a confession. It should learn from previous experiences,” he said.
