Probable agreement to appoint Constitutional Council
Justice Minister Ibrahim Najjar told Voice of Lebanon radio on Saturday that “compromises are what govern Lebanon.”
In relation to the Constitutional Council, Najjar said it had been agreed that the opposition would name two members; the majority would name two members, while President Michel Sleiman would choose the fifth, who could be elected as the council head.
“The battle is about the head of the council, because he is so important at this important stage of Lebanon’s history,” he said.
“Our challenge is to build a Lebanese state, otherwise the nation which we dream of will not be established,” he said, added that no one was more patriotic than any other.
