Coexistence a red line, more important than politics
Lebanese Forces MP George Adwan on Sunday during a meeting with LF supporters in the village of Rmeileh that coexistence is a red line not to be crossed by anybody. “It is more important than politics, elections and positions,” he said.
Adwan also said that, “We bet on the establishment of the state and the fulfillment of its duties.”
“We do not live in a state today,” Adwan said, explaining that this is because of the weapons beyond the control of the Lebanese government and the failure to adopt a state budget.
“We cannot adopt a state budget because we were unable to give the Council for South what Speaker Nabih Berri wants,” he said.
Adwan also said it is impossible to live in a state with the presence of armed militants between Nehme and Damour claiming to support the Palestinian cause. Adwan said the LF opposes the naturalization of the Palestinians and supports resolving the Palestinian issue in a way that allows the Palestinians to return their homeland.
Adwan also said that the concept of the state does not comply with “occupying” downtown Beirut, closing Beirut International Airport and blocking highways in Jounieh and Jbeil.
