نعى الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد الرئيس السابق لجنوب أفريقيا نيلسون مانديلا، ووصف حياته بأنها مصدر إلهام للمقاتلين من أجل الحرية ودرس للطغاة.
وانضمت الرئاسة السورية من خلال صفحتها الرسمية على موقع “فايسبوك” إلى الأصوات التي أشادت بالزعيم الأفريقي الراحل. ووصفت مانديلا في بيان بأنه “ملهم لقيم المحبة والإخوة الإنسانية”.
وأضافت: “أصبح تاريخه النضالي ملهماً لكل الشعوب المستضعفة في العالم، وبانتظار أن يتعلّم الظالمون والمعتدون الدرس بأنهم في النهاية هم الخاسرون”.
