Error in 1960 Electoral Law Will Not Be Repeated
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said it was "wrong" to return to the past sixty years with regards to the 1960 electoral law.
"I am the first official to acknowledge this mistake," Berri told an election-related rally in east Lebanon”s city of Baalbek.
"It is high time Lebanon moves from being a state of authority to being a state of law," he stressed.
Berri urged the various political parties to team up in order to build a state a law.
From Haret Saidi near the southern port city of Tyre, Berri criticized the nomination of Prime Minister Fouad Saniora for the upcoming parliamentary elections, and voiced support for candidate Ossama Saad.
