Gemayel Calls on Lebanese to Defend Democratic Republic
Phalange party leader Amin Gemayel called on all Lebanese to necessarily defend the democratic republic of Lebanon.
In a press conference on Wednesday at the Phalange headquarters in Saifi, Gemayel called on voters to vote heavily in June 7 in favor of “the sovereign forces that are working on defending the Lebanese democratic parliamentary system and save Lebanon from falling into regional and international adventures” at the country’s expense.
He warned against the pattern of his political opponents speech saying his foes’ program is linked to Iran’s regional strategy that works on confronting a group of other states.
“This issue is not related to Lebanese interests at all,” Gemayel said.
He expressed fears in which a comprehensive party would take power in the country “would this party allow any other political party to normally practice its rights as we are [traditionally] used to in Lebanon?”
“Regardless of the elections outcome, I don’t see the opposition has a program save that of hindrance,” Gemayel said.
