Hariri Pleased with Nasrallah Stance, Disappointed by Raad”s

MP Saad Hariri stressed that through dialogue both the March 14 alliance and the opposition can work hand-in-hand to build a strong state.

The daily As Safir on Tuesday said Hariri”s stance was made in a greeting letter in which he replied to Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah”s post-election speech.

Hariri expressed satisfaction with the content of Nasrallah”s televised speech on Monday night.

As Safir said Hariri was preparing for a meeting with Nasrallah to discuss the new phase of Lebanon, particularly formation of a government.

The daily said Hariri telephoned Hizbullah MP Mohammed Raad on Monday to reproach him for his latest stance in which he stressed that group”s weapons were not subject to discussion.

"The majority must commit not to question our role as a resistance party, the legitimacy of our weapons arsenal and the fact that Israel is an enemy state," Raad said.

He warned that the outcome of Sunday”s vote signaled further political turbulence.

"The results indicate that the crisis will continue, unless the majority changes its attitude," Raad believed.

As Safir quoted Mustaqbal Movement sources as saying that the title of the next stage is: "dialogue above all else."
