Never before has any presidential candidate in Lebanon run on such a profound and detailed economic & social program. Dr. Geagea presidential candidacy has taken this democratic process that Lebanon goes through every six years to a higher level never seen before on the Lebanese political scene.
The program that offers remedies and reforms to the current ailing Lebanese institutions and economy is a real hope for Lebanon which has witnessed all kinds of turmoil during the last decade. This program, when implemented, will sure take Lebanon out from its current slow disintegration and place it on the road of prosperity, peace and security which all Lebanese yearn for.
The importance of this presidential program is not only in its context and details, but primarily in the person that has taken the task of implementing it. That gives it its strength and value. Dr Geagea zeal, determination and experience are the greatest assets in carrying out those proposed ambitious plans and reforms covering all aspects of Lebanese life. Over the years, he has shown his credibility as well as his ability to deliver on his promises. His hard work and input in re-organizing the Lebanese Forces Party these past few years cannot go unnoticed. He has transformed the Party into a modern, institutional, dynamic and democratic entity, withdrawing a large mass of the Lebanese population making it today the largest Christian party in Lebanon.
His running for the office of president has also sent a strong and encouraging message to Lebanese citizens in Lebanon and abroad. The core of this message: When it comes to choosing a new president, Lebanese must take things in their own hands rather than depending on foreign countries to choose for them!
The 128 members of parliament have a historic duty today that will be remembered for years to come. They have to choose between a prosperous modern Lebanon and a Lebanon on its way to decay. They have to choose between a Lebanon that everyone will be proud to leave to his children and grandchildren and between a Lebanon that faces conflicts, wars and destruction every few years. They have to choose between transparency and corruption, between the rule of law and that of lawlessness, between justice to all and partiality!
President Geagea, will be a president to all Lebanese regardless of their religion, sect or political affiliation. His programs when he takes office will benefit all Lebanese in every part of Lebanon.
