Lebanon is a Puzzle
Lebanese Forces (LF) leader Samir Geagea said Lebanon resembles a jigsaw puzzle due to its composition.
"We have not arrived at the Lebanon we all want, due to the country”s set-up…Lebanon is like a jigsaw puzzle, you finish arranging one side only to see difficulties on another," Geagea said.
The Lebanese Forces leader received a delegation of Lebanese immigrants representing LF supporters overseas on Saturday at his residence in Maarab.
Geagea, praised the Taef accord for working or arranging the country following years of war, saying it secured dissolving all Lebanese militias "however, sadly, this accord was not fully implemented."
"The Taef accord also has an article that returns Lebanon to the [1949] armistice with Israel and authorizes the Lebanese armed forces to do all that is necessary to maintain peace and stability," the LF leader said.
Geagea said that differences began to erupt once it was made clear to march 8 Forces that the Taef accord is not being fully implemented, "and that they were taking foreign strategic interests into consideration rather than the national interests."
