Rumors of Alleged Arab Terroists in Lebanon are Unfounded
The Central Security Council, after a meeting with Caretaker Interior Minister Ziad Baroud, affirmed that the coordination is total between the security and the military forces to keep terrorist networks under control.
The Council asserted that all Arab tourists who visited Lebanon in the past months "did it legally and in possession of a visa or a permission. Those who remain in the country are still within the period allowed by law without any exception".
The Lebanese security forces, on their part, run a meticulous investigation concerning the duration and the reasons of the tourists who are still in Lebanon.
On this front, the Council decided to create a security committee which is comprised of some of its officers to evaluate the graveness of the threats against those who have filed for protection. It will then be referred to the Council which in turn will take the appropriate decision regarding the issue.
