Aoun Threatens to Use “Different Means” if No Deal is Reached Soon
Free Patriotic Movement leader Gen. Michel Aoun warned the ruling coalition that if no settlement to the looming presidential crisis is reached soon, the opposition will resort to “different means to change the situation.”
“People usually use three tones,” Aoun said.
“The first tone is the one we have been using for the past year and a half; the second is the one we are using now when we say this is a wrong situation and needs to be straightened up; and if you don”t understand, there is a third tone,” Aoun warned.
His remarks were made on Tuesday following a series of meetings with Christian politicians that centered around ways to end the political vacuum.
Former cabinet minister Faris Boueiz, and delegations from the opposition Tashnak, Tadamon, Waad and Marada groups were among those who visited Aoun on Tuesday.
Aoun also met with Ahmed Bidiawi, the Egyptian ambassador to Lebanon.
