Martyrdom, Symbolic Friendship Bind me to Hariri
Phalange party leader Amin Gemayel said that the country will keep existing as long as it feeds on sacrifices. "The people who do not sacrifice till martyrdom for their country are not worthy of it," he added.
Gemayel to VOL in the memory of the independence and the assassination of Pierre Gemayel said that "we are proud of the role our family and party played serving Lebanon. Sacrifices become incentives to offer more for our country".
"It is true that history is painful for I have lost a child to it, but we look forward to the future of Lebanon. Pierre”s martyrdom is an incentive for us all as we do not want to dwell in sadness despite of the harshness of it. We Christians consider death the path to salvation and to a new birth. We will keep fighting so that Pierre does not die twice. We assure you that the criminals have killed the body but not the cause that he was fighting for. For that and to preserve Pierre”s message we have to carry on with these sacrifices".
Regarding his relation with PM Saad Hariri Gemayel said that "Sheikh Saad is the son of a martyr and martyrdom is what brings us together. Not to mention the special relation that used to bind him to Pierre".
