We all take our cars for granted, myself included, we rely on the fact that our car is a “good car” and will survive everything, but then get disappointed when it breaks down during winter, especially if that happens on the Dbayeh highway when it’s transformed into a pond during heavy rain… So to avoid the headache, I’ve learned how to prepare my car for the season and decided to share that list with you, so here you go:
1- Check your battery
2- Check your radiator and hoses for cracks and top up with antifreeze.
3- Check your lights and replace worn out bulbs.
4- Replace windshield wipers and and top up with wiper fluid.
5- Keep your gas tank full.
6- Check climate control and defroster for normal operation.
7- Service your tires and change them if necessary.
8- Replace oils and filters and check for any leaks.
9- Always wash your car after driving in a storm or off-road to check for any cracks or leaks.
10- Extras:
Jumper Cables, Snow Shovel, Ice Scraper, Bottled Water, Warm Clothes and a Blanket, Flashlight and Whistle, Dry Snacks, Phone Charger, Portable Air Compressor, First Aid Kit, Tow Strap, Tire Chains.
And always remember to drive safe, carefully, and slowly.
