Syria will announce results of Mughniyeh probe April 6

 

Damascus will announce the results of its investigation of the assassination of Lebanon”s Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyeh on April 6 according to Syrian National New agency based on diplomatic sources.

 

The announcement date will coincide with the date that the Security Council will be discussing the tenth report on the assassination of Lebanon”s former PM Rafik Hariri.

 

According to the news agency which is owned by the Syrian government, the Syrian investigation report will point fingers at some Arab and foreign intelligence operations that will be accused of carrying on the assassination of Mughniyeh.

 

Hezbollah has already accused Israel of being behind the murder of Mughniyeh and its leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah threatened an open war with Israel to revenge his death.

 

Mugniyeh”s widow on the other hands accused Syria of being behind her husbands murder. His wife, an Iranian national was in Damascus on February 12 when her husband was killed but went to Tehran after he was assassinated. From Tehran she declared:

 

“The Syrian traitors assisted in my husband”s murder”, She added “This is why the Syrian regime has refused the help of Iran and Hezbollah in the investigation of the murder.”
