Mount Lebanon Mufti Jouzou Declares: No to Hizbullah in Our AreasMount Lebanon Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Ali Jouzou on Tuesday declared that areas under his jurisdiction totally reject Hizbullah.
Jouzou, in a statement, accused Hizbullah of buying buildings and followers in Mount Lebanon”s Sunni sector known as the Kharroub province with the aim of "sowing the seeds of discord everywhere."
Does Hizbullah "want another Nahr al-Bared in the Kharroub Province?" Mufti Jouzou asked.
"Natives of the province reject Hizbullah in their areas under any slogan," Jouzou declared.
"Security of the province, but rather security throughout Lebanon, is threatened by Hizbullah that appears to be heading towards Iraqizing Lebanon and linking it to the Khomeini Islamic revolution of Iran," he added.
He pleaded with the government to "put an end to such penetrations so that the state of Hizbullah would not enforce its law on Lebanese areas by applying gangs methods."
Jouzou said the Lebanese "Army should put an end to such penetrations before it finds itself obliged to fight a new war like the one it fought in Nahr al-Bared."
"We are facing a scheme aimed at controlling Lebanon”s security and stability through stirring trouble everywhere. Is this the dialogue that Hizbullah and the opposition are calling for?" Jouzou asked.
