أكّد نائب رئيس حزب “القوّات اللبنانيّة” النائب جورج عدوان أن ترجمة الوجود المسيحي الفاعل يكون بانتخاب رئيس جمهوريّة قويّ وواضح في مواقفه، مشيراً إلى أن “المسيحيين شركاء في قرار الدولة وبناء العيش المشترك”. وأضاف: “كل ما تقوم الدولة وتقوى يصبح دور المسيحيين أفعل، وبالتالي فدور المسيحيين في لبنان مرتبط بشكل وثيق بقيام دولة قادرة وقويّة”.
عدوان، وفي تقرير لقناة الـ”mtv” عن دور المسيحيين في لبنان، اعتبر أن “الإستحقاق الدائم هو الإنتخابات النيابيّة ومن هنا فدور المسيحيين أن يعملوا مع شركائهم في الوطن على إقرار قانون جديد للإنتخابات يراعي صحة التمثيل ويؤمن المناصفة”، مشيراً إلى أن “الإستحقاق الثاني المهم هو إنتخابات رئاسة الجمهوريّة”. وأضاف: “إن للمسيحيين دور كبير في انتخابات الرئاسة من أجل إسقاط مقولة الرئيس الضعيف والتوافقي”.
وشدد عدوان على ان “القوّات اللبنانيّة” مع انتخاب رئيس جمهوريّة يكون له موقف ورأي واضح وخيارات واضحة، لافتاً إلى أن “دور المسيحيين في هذا الإطار هو وضع الرؤية والخطة من أجل تطبيق هذه الرؤية كي يرسخ في رؤوس الناس أن الرئيس القوي هو الطريق الصحيح من أجل قيام الدولة القويّة”.

I am certain that 90% of the Lebanese people, in Lebanon and abroad, do support strengthening and activating the government institutions and support a nation of 10452 km2, free, independent and co-existence with all, specially an effective Christian role and presence; What is lacking from this aspiration is that you (March 14 and LF and Kataeb and Mustaqbal and the independents) are demanding the government officials to take action and a stand to protect and defend the country and the people, but the Lebanese officials not only lack capabilities, they too lack the will to do anything. They are either too weak or too influenced by Hizballah, the decision maker and executor in the country. What is lacking from this aspiration is the element of strength that is a key to be recognized as a power player in the game; very soon, if Hizballah allows the presidential elections to take place, only because Nasrallah can force the election of a candidate of his choice. Either way, I am afraid that soon government officials will turn against the March 14 leaders and supporters and either kill them or arrest them while Hizballah continues to play behind the scenes, using the government institutions and officials as his puppets on a larger scale. I think, these times remind us of 1975 when the Late Sheikh Pierre Gemayel announced and asked the youth to bear arms in order to protect the country. I think this is the time to save Lebanon and its institutions from Hizballah and Iran’s hegemony. The time is now before it is too late. Also, be mindful that history and experience should guide any future actions to avoid further divide and how to split whatever left from the pie. God Bless
